Together
with the ten agencies shown above, over seventy other entities in the government
also generate and compile large amounts of secondary data in what is loosely
called, "The Federal Statistical System. In addition, a number of professional
consultants and companies in the private sector (such as Ricercar)
process the secondary data, adding value to it by adapting it for practical
applications such as (to mention a few) market targeting and strategic
planning, locational analysis, economic development or epidemiology.
